About Us
Who We Are & What We're Building
Our Story
Bedrock Cosmos started as a small side project that aimed to give users a much simpler way to use capes and cosmetics directly within Minecraft Bedrock Edition's Marketplace. Some of our goals included making capes easier to customize, restoring Marketplace content that was previously removed without much reason, and fixing other inconsistencies with skins that arose from newer game updates. So we built a proxy to fix these issues ourselves, and it grew from there.
Today, Bedrock Cosmos is a free, open-source launcher for Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Windows and Android. It adds a growing library of custom capes and skin packs that aren't part of the base game, surfaces Marketplace content that is unavailable otherwise, and restores capes, animations, and skins that were removed or broken in official updates. It runs quietly in the background without touching your game files, while also using very few system resources.
What We Believe In
Transparency: Every line of Bedrock Cosmos is open source and published on GitHub. We value our users' trust and encourage anyone to read or use the code as they please.
Cosmetics Only: Bedrock Cosmos is built purely around customizing your skin and/or capes. We intentionally stay away from anything that would give players a gameplay edge.
Lightweight: Bedrock Cosmos is built to be a small background proxy that can be installed and launched in seconds. The proxy itself is also designed with performance in mind and aims to use as few of your system resources as possible.
The Team
Bedrock Cosmos is maintained by a small group of contributors who work on it in their spare time because we genuinely enjoy Minecraft Bedrock and wanted better tools for it. We're always looking for people to help expand the project, whether it be through contributing code or desigining capes/skins for the Bedrock Cosmos Marketplace. If that sounds like you, the best place to apply for these positions is in our Discord server.
Community Contributions
A lot of what makes Bedrock Cosmos worth using comes from its community. Creators can submit their own custom cape and skin designs through our Discord server, and accepted submissions get added to the shared library that every Bedrock Cosmos user can access through the launcher. We're also working on new ways to let players upload and use their own custom capes directly, rather than only choosing from the built-in library.
Get Involved
Whether you're here to download the launcher or browse our library of capes and skins, we're glad you stopped by. You can find release notes and known issues on our Changelogs page, browse or contribute to the code on GitHub, or drop into our Discord server to chat with the team and the rest of the community.
